Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing, evaluating, implementing and managing the maintenance programs to minimize costs and achieve optimum productivity and efficiency for operations, as well as for the safety of his/her employees.

Job Responsibilities
  • Be an example and promoter of safety among our internal and external employees
  • Build the maintenance budget
  • Develops, implements and manages maintenance preventative, predictive and corrective programs
  • Detect training needs for his/her department
  • Promote all the practices established for the Outages, including Preparation, Execution and Post-outages
  • Control Maintenance Costs and CAPEX
  • Evaluates current in-house program for maintenance and repairs or plant and equipment and makes continual changes to improve the program
  • Develops, implements and manages, in coordination with operations objectives, new maintenance programs to achieve optimum productivity and efficiency
  • Manages and maintains, in conjunction with EHS, all safety standards
  • Ensures that all facilities for which he/she is responsible, follow federal/state regulations and requirements
  • Develops and maintains inventory program for parts
  • Lead work teams through example and motivation, instruction, coaching, discipline and otherwise oversee employee work performance
  • Resolve employee grievances to levels provided for within the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Train employees on standard work for maintenance tasks
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination or education and experience
  • 7 years of experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production and maintenance, equipment maintenance, detecting and resolving production problems and plant safety
  • 5 years in a supervisory role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations
  • Must me customer-service oriented teamwork, organizational commitment and a focus on the stakeholders.
  • Must have strong leadership
  • Demonstrated in interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, coach and develop employees
  • Needs a degree of computer literacy in Windows environment and MS office.
Working Conditions
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outdoors
  • Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
